COURSE DESCRIPTION:

This program is intended to provide participants with an awareness of various non-traditional and alternate sources of funding for construction, operation, and maintenance of US Highways. This course is primarily for FHWA employees responsible for administering the Federal-aid program and presents participants with an overview of funding options, essential elements of successful partnerships, and the roles involved in facilitating PPPs.

OUTCOMES:

Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Review Public Private Partnerships- what they are and how they work - and what makes them a viable funding option.
  • Clarify roles in PPPs (FHWAs, state DOTs, financial community, developers)
  • Identify criteria in selecting appropriate private financing procurement models.

TARGET AUDIENCE:

The target audience for this course primarily includes FHWA Headquarters staff, Division Administrators, and FHWA Division office staff.
