DESCRIPTION:
This training was prepared by the Transportation Curriculum Coordination Council (TCCC) in partnership with NHI to review the properties and applications of self-consolidating concrete as well as the test methods used for measuring SCC properties according
to ASTM test methods. This training is recommended for the Transportation Curriculum Coordination Council levels I, II, and III.
This training includes an overview of the fresh properties of self-consolidating concrete including terminology, target guidelines and quality control. In addition, ASTM test methods for slump flow and flow rate, passing ability using the j-ring, column
segregation, static segregation and making self consolidated concrete test cylinders are reviewed.
OUTCOMES:
Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to:
- Define self-consolidating concrete
- Understand the terminology associated with self-consolidating concrete
- Perform the tests associated with SCC
- Report the test results
TARGET AUDIENCE:
This course is designed for anyone who would like to understand more about self consolidating concrete, including personnel running self-consolidating concrete tests in the field along with supervisors in charge of field testing technicians.
