Dear Transportation Curriculum Coordination Council Participant:
We would like to invite each of you to another meeting of the Transportation Curriculum Coordination Council to be held February 18-19, 2003 in San Diego, CA. We will follow a similar format to our last meeting, including brief updates from the Regional groups or others as required, work plan updates and status, and future direction. In addition a major focus of this meeting will be on the development of our core curriculum for the construction team.
Our meetings will run from 8:00 AM until approximately 4:30 PM each day. Coffee and juice will be served each morning. The meeting site is the Shelter Pointe Hotel and Marina located at 1551 Shelter Island Drive in San Diego only a few minutes from the airport. A block of rooms is available for the Government rate of $99 plus tax. Please call (800) 566-2524 to make reservations and inform them that you are part of the Federal Highway Administration group. If you should encounter any problems, the meeting contact is Al Dauber. Please make your reservations early to assure a room and verify cancellation policies when making reservations.
Invitational Travelers: Travel arrangements will now be made by contacting June Dea, Program Administrator, at 301-937-5183. The official travel dates for most will begin on February 17 and end on February 20. Remember that airline travel arrangements must be made through Ms. Dea, but you should arrange your own hotel room and shuttle service. Additional guidance for invitational travelers will be provided by Ms. Dea at a later date. Please make travel arrangements promptly
Shuttle Service and Information:
Complimentary shuttle service is available between the hotel and airport. Visitor information can be found at www.infosandiego.com. Shelter Island is just a few minutes from Lindbergh Field and can be found easily using Map Quest.
Shipping and Receiving: Storage of shipped packages for the meeting must be arranged with the Convention Services Department in advance. A handling charge starting at $1.50 per box will be assessed. To assure delivery the shipping label should read:
