Title:  (SR500) NHI Innovations - Towing and Recovery Service Partnerships
Date/Time:  9/19/2013 2:30 PM - 4:00 PM Eastern Time
Description:  This webinar will discuss Towing and Recovery Service Partnerships (TRSP) which allow public and private partners to work together to expedite clearance of incidents where large trucks are involved through the establishment of protocols, clearance time targets, and often training and incentives, to ensure that the right responders, tow equipment and operators are on the scene quickly to safely restore traffic flow after an incident. Towing and Recovery Services Partnerships are already at work in several states and have been shown to effectively reduced the length of time and the severity of incident-related traffic congestion. Each partnership means motorists and responders are safer and the likelihood of secondary accidents is reduced, increasing safety and mobility for all. TRSPs are customizable to the needs, laws, and practices of each region or agency. This webinar will highlight three of these programs and show that although they are each uniquely structured and managed they are all successful in providing time savings in major incident clearance. Moderator: Paul Jodin, Traffic Incident Management Program Manager, FHWA Speakers: Bill Legg, State ITS Operations Engineer, WSDOT Paul Clark, Incident Management Program Manager, Florida Department of Transportation Emanuel Jackson, H.E.R.O. Unit Coordinator, Georgia Department of Transportation
